Harp in the Mountains Summer Festival 2011

   NEW  for 2011!

The Festival will be held in July 17-23, 2011 at Hemlock Acres Campground in Coburn, PA,  in the beautiful mountains of central PA, 20 miles east of State College.  The recreational camp atmosphere and the intense harp study combine into a great harp experience for dedicated high school and college-age students. Private lessons, “Buddy” lessons, Master classes, Harp ensemble, “Cross-training” sessions  and area performances, as well as hiking, swimming,  campfires and special events.

This year's theme is "Making Your Own Kind of Music."
We will listen to and play a wide range of music for harp or made playable for harp including music of different cultures around the world, rock and jazz, music old and new.  And you will have a chance to compose some harp music of your own.  All of this plus our usual intense ensemble work, practice tips and some good fun times too!

Special adult "Harp Retreat" weekends are available at Hemlock Acres throughout the year for those harpists and harpers who want a mountain escape and some creative time with their harps.
